Family Cluster Babysitting Help is needed babysitting for young children during the Family Cluster Program at St. Zepherin.  Care is needed for children from ages 1-5 while their parents and older sibling participate in the program. Each Cluster meets every third Sunday from mid -September until mid April.  Babysitting takes place in the lower level of St. Zepherin Pastoral Center from 9:30-11:00 am.  Please Contact Sue Muldoon in the religious education office if you are able to assist with this program.

Catechists Needed Catechists are still needed for all programs. If you are interested in participating in this rewarding experience, please contact Sue Muldoon.

Liturgy of the Word with Children is celebrated most Sundays during the 10:30 Mass. This is wonderful opportunity for the children to be able to experience the readings of the week in a way that is more accessible to them. Please consider Mass attendance and participation the primary element of your children's religious education. Volunteers are needed for this important ministry.

Liturgy of the Word with Children (Pre-K-3rd Grade)
We have been most pleased by the response to the Liturgy of the Word with Children (LWWC)
that is offered at the 10:30 am Mass on many Sunday mornings throughout the year.
No registration is required for children ages 5 to grade 3 (inclusive) to participate.

If you have been thinking about becoming involved in this ministry, please
call Sue Muldoon, 508-358-2985
with any questions you may have.

Liturgy of the Word with Children (LWWC) is designed to include children in the liturgy and create a sense of belonging. Children accompany their family to the Mass and then those who will participate are invited to come to the altar after the opening prayer. The priest gives the children his blessing and the leader/co-leader accompanies them to the church hall. The main goal of the LWWC is to help the children who participate to grow closer to God and His people. The children will do all of the things the adults do in the main assembly; that is read Scripture, sing, hear a homily, and offer prayers of the faithful. The difference is that these are geared to their level. Questions are also asked about the readings to help them apply understanding to their own lives.

Commonly asked questions:
How old does my child need to be to attend the LWWC?
The general range is 5-8 or Grades K-3, however, if your child can sit quietly for about 15 minutes, then 4 year olds are welcome to attend.
Does my child need to attend the St. Ann's Religious Education Program to attend?

No, all children who are in attendance at Mass are welcome. There is no registration required for LWWC.
My child is unsure about attending. May I go with him/her?
Yes, an older sibling is also encouraged to accompany them until he/she feels comfortable coming alone. Older children can serve as excellent role models for the younger children.
How does this format enhance family participation afterwards?
Each child will receive a handout sheet after the LWWC that has simple questions based on the readings for family members to discuss during the week. Children, because of their increased participation, enjoy looking at this sheet during the Mass instead of non-related church books and/or toys.
When is LWWC offered?
Liturgy of the Word with Children is offered at the 10:30 am Mass on many Sundays throughout the year.
