Saint Ann Melkite Catholic Church’s Fabulous Foursome entered the 2021 Danbury Knights of Columbus (McGivney Council 29) annual golf tournament hoping for good weather and expecting good times.

We came away with new friends, great memories and …. the 2021 Catholic Cup and overall tournament champion!

St. Ann’s team – Fr. Tom Davis, Rima Antous, Arty Haddad (missing from photo) and Greg Davis – receiving the Catholic Cup from Fr. Sam Scott, pastor of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Danbury

Rima Antous, Artie Haddad, Fr. Tom Davis, and Greg Davis combined for an overall scramble score of 59, edging out St. Marguerite Bourgeoys for the cherished Catholic Cup.

The day started out cloudy and overcast with occasional rain, but sunny skies prevailed by tee off on what turned out to be a beautiful first day of autumn. Opening up with an eagle on their first hole, the foursome began to believe in miracles.

Rima Antous also captured first place in the women’s longest drive contest, as did Arty Haddad in the 70+ age category.

Next year Saint Ann defends the Cup!

The Knights of Columbus McGivney Council #29, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Danbury, hosted the golf tournament and awarded the Catholic Cup.
