Our Melkite Patriarch Joseph Absi and the Synod of the Melkite Catholic Church have declared 2024 to be a Jubilee Year in celebration of three hundred years of affirmed unity between the Melkite Catholic Church and the Roman Catholic Church.

To mark the occasion, our parish will host a celebratory performance of Beethoven’s String Quartet, Opus No. 131, an enduring masterpiece to be performed for us by the Deming String Quartet, on Saturday July 27, 2024 @ 4:00 pm.

Said to be Beethoven’s favorite of his own late string quartets, this composition moved the great composer Franz Shubert to exclaim upon hearing it for the first time “After this, what is left for us to write?” In like admiration, another great classical composer, Robert Shumann, said this composition has a “grandeur … which no words can express… on the extreme boundary of all that has hitherto been attained by human art and imagination.”

Join us afterwards for a light reception in the Parish Hall.

The evening is free and open to the public.

Free will offerings will be gratefully accepted.
